Bending Strength of Connection Joints of Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Pipe Piles

The connection joint of prestressed concrete pipe piles is a typical steel–concrete structure, and its bending strength has evolved into critical factor affecting the safety supporting structures in underground engineering. Based on full-scale tests five specimens large-diameter reinforced (PRC) joints, as well corresponding finite element numerical simulation, bearing deformation characteristics joints PRC were analyzed, together with effects strength, precompression stress, mode joints. results showed that crack resistance welded was equivalent to pile shaft, but ultimate moment about 58–87% shaft. failure mainly manifested end plate yielding drum shape, tension side hoop clearly separated from pile, crushed at upper edge hoop. can be improved by increasing bonding between plates or embedding Rachel reinforcement concrete. In addition, synchronously grade ratio strengthening stress are favorable measures.
